But then life -and specially life with kids!- pushes us away from our\nbest propositions. It\u2019s way easier to go for single-use items, to buy one more\nlittle toy to save us from a tantrum, to grab over packaged food and save our\ntime. &nbsp;Don\u2019t you feel though, like being\ntricked?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There is way more satisfaction in using less, reusing more,\nand unleashing your creativity in recycling. &nbsp;Kids are naturally imaginative\u2026think about\nhours spent building with cardboard boxes. &nbsp;Finding some family space for reusing and\nrecycling with creativity can help children in so many ways; it nurtures\ncreativity and imagination which is essential in child development, it assists\nthem gain access to a creative way of seeing, it helps them fulfill their need to\ngive their parents something unique. &nbsp;Most\nimportantly, art activities build confidence because children gain a sense of\nmastery over materials resulting in a new creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But first things first.&nbsp;\nWe need to debunk some common misconceptions. &nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/peoplesdesignlab.org\/en\/blog\/post\/refuting-misconceptions\">Luckily\nsomeone did the job for us<\/a>! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Next step, let\u2019s unleash our creativity. &nbsp;It does not only mean being crafty. &nbsp;It means setting our mind to see treasures\neverywhere. &nbsp;For examples, organizing swap\nparties. &nbsp;Did you know that fashion\nindustry is one of the most polluting ones? &nbsp;So, why encourage them?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Or, find the occasion for an \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dropbox.com\/s\/vqo1ut4ghp9i92c\/empty%20your%20room%20template-en.pdf?dl=0\">empty\nyour room<\/a>\u201d day, when little ones can set up their own thrift market -with\nonly minimal interference from grown-ups. We have first seen it abroad and kids\nreally love it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here 2 of our\nfavorite ideas for reusing items and reducing plastics; tried and tested!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.1millionwomen.com.au\/blog\/how-furoshiki-japanese-fabric-wrapping\/\">Furoshiki<\/a>\nare a type of traditional Japanese wrapping cloths traditionally used to\ntransport clothes, gifts, or other goods.&nbsp;\nAlthough <a href=\"https:\/\/wellnessmama.com\/318001\/furoshiki-wrap\/\">Furoshiki<\/a>\ncloths are not something new, its use kept declining after\u2026the easy\navailability of plastic bags in Japan! They are useful to keep in the bag and\nuse to wrap loose items, or as small emergency bag instead of plastic ones. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>T-yarn. The aim is to enhance the awareness of families &amp; local organisations (i.e. non-experts) on the issue of plastic pollution and trigger their engagement in project activities.
